Today we decided to spend a little time at Rudd Lake! Brody pedaled his little trike all the way around the lake - that's 0.9 miles! We cooled off at the beach after our walk!

Rock Falls Fun Days 2013
We enjoyed the festivities at Rock Falls Fun Days this year. Mommy ran the 5K in the morning and then we came back as a family for lunch and to check out the kid's games! Brody wasn't all that excited about the games but he LOVED the inflatable slide.

Tree Planting!
This is a little Arthur family tradition! For each grandchild's baptism, Grandpa and Grandma Arthur purchased them a tree to be planted at their house. Now there is quite the row of trees in the back yard. It will be so wonderful for the kids to be able to watch these trees grow big as they grow. Today we added two trees - one for Cooper and one for Maci - to make a total of 4 :-)

3-Day Potty Training

Plane!
Brody was entertained for a long time tonight by the airplane spraying the seedcorn around our house! He was amazed...
Iowa State Fair 2013
We have made a visit to the Iowa State Fair a little bit of a tradition for our family. This year was Brody's third state fair visit and Cooper was a first-timer (of course)! We each have our favorite stops at the Iowa State Fair... I'd have to say the Little Hands on the Farm and Hoppy's Fresh Squeezed Lemonade are at the top of the list :-)
The first thing Brody checked out was John Deere lot... big surprise! He even scored a pretty sweet hat that make him look like a "John Deere."
The boys were sporting their 4-H t-shirts. 4-H has been a tradition for both Mom and Dad's family and we hope these two can continue it! Who knows, maybe they'll meet their best friend and love of their life at the county fair! That's what happens in the cattle barn... just ask Dad ;-)
Our Family!
This state fair trip was pretty special as Great Grandpa and Grandma Zieman's farm was recognized as a century farm this year! What an accomplishment. Great Grandpa is the fourth generation of Ziemans to own the land and we are looking forward to many more generations. We enjoyed the ceremony in the morning and spent some time hanging out with Mom's family. Here's Cooper with Grandma Z!

It was a long day for Brody but we saw all that we could and he was sleeping in his carseat in the truck before we even took off! Another good year at the Iowa State Fair!
Picking Apples
Dad discovered an apple tree at the acreage and took us for a Commander ride to pick apples. Brody loved it! It is so fun to watch him and Dad work together :-) We picked enough for a fresh apple crisp and mom is going to pick the rest soon to try her hand at canning!

Pool Time!
We are spending the night at a hotel in Ankeny tonight so that we will be close early tomorrow morning when we celebrate the Zieman Century Farm at the Iowa state fair. We made it to Ankeny early enough to grab some supper and spend some time at the hotel pool. Brody loved swimming especially since it was with Dad! He floated all around the pool in his little tube and filled up his squirt gun to get Grandpa (and everyone else...)!

Time for Camping!
We did a little camping this weekend with the Jansen family. Since we sold our camper a couple weeks ago, we loaded up Grandma Arthur's camper and headed over to Clear Lake. Needless to say, we were a little spoiled by the amenities Grandma's camper has to offer so it really seemed like vacation.
We did all sorts of fun things in Clear Lake! Brody liked swimming at the beach, running through the sprinklers and playing at the park the best. We enjoyed lunch downtown and picked up some ice cream too! Brody liked his "cookie ice cream" but was just too darn tired to finish it!

Cooper is 3-Months Old!
Cooper is 3 months old today. He loves sitting up and is so alert. He tries not to miss much that big brother Brody is doing. He is very ticklish and loves to giggle! He is still rolling from his tummy to his back but hasn't mastered the other way around yet. We love our little man :-)
